This Recommendation can be used throughout the modern Internet to enable JavaScript object notation (JSON) encoded data to be digitally signed thus providing authenticity and verifiability of the data. It is applicable to many sectors, organizations, and products such as the signing financial transactions, real estate transactions, electronic contracts, threat intelligence data, and vendor application programming interface (API) calls.
