This Network Rail standard specifies key management processes associated with the production and implementation of Network Rail standards.
It specifies mandatory requirements for:
a) responsibilities in respect of the development and implementation of Network Rail standards, including transfer of ownership;
b) processes for the development and implementation of Network Rail standards;
c) management of non-compliance with Network Rail standards, Railway Group standards and Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs);
This standard applies to all Network Rail people involved in the development and implementation of Network Rail standards.
It also applies to all Network Rail people involved in the management of noncompliance with Network Rail standards, Railway Group standards and Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs).
Purpose
Network Rail standards codify the information, principles and business requirements that together help establish a consistent, safe and coherent company-wide set of working practices.
Network Rail standards deliver:
improved use of resources, leading to greater efficiency and productivity;
improved quality of the working environment through health, safety and environmental requirements;
reduced risk;
a consistent means of meeting regulatory responsibilities in the most flexible, efficient and appropriate way;
effective communication with our people, customers and suppliers.
