Model Clause 122N: Bridge Installation by Large Capacity Crane
Organization: | NR |
Publication Date: | 1 June 2008 |
Status: | active |
Page Count: | 4 |
scope:
These Model Clauses have been developed for use in situations such as absolute possessions where a large capacity crane is to be used to erect a complete bridge structure or girder or to lift in a precast concrete bridge unit at a large radius. A typical example of this would be the use of a Gottwald AK680 crane with a 65 metre boom, capable of lifting a 200 tonne bridge into position. Essentially, the governing criteria for the use of this Section are where the crane will be required to be rigged following its arrival on the Site.
The Model Clauses contained within this Section do not apply to the use of tower cranes or small road mobile cranes. For the requirements applicable to such cranes, the Specifier should refer to the Technical Workscope Technical Module: General Requirements.
Similarly these Model Clauses do not apply in cases where multicrane or tandem lifts are proposed.
In addition these Clauses are not applicable to the use of rail cranes. For these instances the Specifier should draft his own Clauses, whilst seeking guidance from the manufacturer and operator of such cranes
