This Procedure applies to the consideration, provision and management of Data Logging Systems for Railtrack Signalling Infrastructure.

Data Logging Systems encompassed by this Procedure are those that are planned, permanent, non-safety critical installations used for monitoring signalling systems. The requirements of such systems are defined in Railtrack Company Specification: Requirements for Data Loggers Used to Monitor Signalling Installations, RT/E/S/11304.

Inbuilt Data Logging Systems and judicial recorders such as those found on SSI and other computer based interlocking systems are excluded from the scope of this Company Procedure.

PURPOSE

The purpose of this Procedure is to provide a consistent means of planning, installing, testing and managing Data Logging Systems on Railtrack controlled infrastructure.
