This specification defines the performance requirements for Class 1, single-phase FSP Isolating Transformers with a power rating of up to and including 10kVA. Signalling FSP transformers can be housed either in Signalling Equipment apparatus cases, REBs, Control Centres or co-located in E&P apparatus cases.

Purpose

This specification supersedes the BR924A (Specification for Air Cooled Power Transformers for Railway Signalling) and defines the requirements for Signalling Functional Supply Point transformers (FSP). The primary function of this specification is to clearly define to manufacturers the minimum performance requirements that need to be achieved for Product Acceptance to be considered. The secondary function of this specification is to provide background information to E&P Designers, Signalling Designers, Signalling Installers and Signalling Maintainers.
