scope:
This procedure applies to all those who have responsibility for the management of fire safety at Managed Stations.
PURPOSE
• To make sure all Managed Stations have in place arrangements to comply with Fire Regulations and Network Rail Standards. The following regulations govern fire safety arrangements at Network Rail Managed Stations:
o The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order) 2005
o The Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. o The Fire Precautions (Sub-surface Railway Stations) England Regulations 2009.
o The Fire Precautions (Sub-surface Railway Stations) Regulations 1989 as amended (Scotland only).
• To make sure fire safety arrangements are managed in a consistent manner with the intention of:
o preventing fires occurring;
o reducing the risks as low as reasonably practicable;
o mitigating the effects of any fires that may occur.
