This procedure does not cover personal safety requirements.

This procedure is for the preventative maintenance of Network Rail direct maintained signalling assets. Assets that are owned by another function but have preventative maintenance undertaken by signalling (e.g. Hot Axle Bearing Detectors) are also covered.

It does not cover the maintenance of tools or equipment used to maintain signalling equipment.

This procedure applies to you if you are involved with the management and delivery of preventative maintenance on signalling equipment. Individual role/position responsibilites for this procedure are detailed in the RACI (section 5).

This precedure does not cover corrective maintenance, this is detailed in NR/PRC/MTC/SG0054.

Purpose

This procedure details the roles and responsibilities in the planning of all routine preventative maintenance activities on signalling assets to fit in with the national planning process and timescales as detailed in NR/PRC/MTC/PL0056.
