This procedure covers disconnections to signalling equipment carried out by Network Rail maintenance; it does not cover disconnections associated with new works or major renewals.

This procedure does not cover personal safety requirements.

All maintenance signalling disconnections are covered except for axle counters systems (covered in NR/PRC/MTC/SG0155)

Purpose

This procedure details the roles and responsibilities for the disconnection of signalling equipment for preventative or corrective maintenance, minor renewals, or safety that will or may affect the normal running of trains.
