GENERAL

These drawing portray former Western Region free wired circuits and supporitng control tables.

The drawings denote the latest version defined for each circuit typical, with guidance on application where appropirate, however the examples found at any particular site will reflect what was custom and practive at the time of design.

These introduction notes identify the principales adopted for the MAS signal boxes installed during the 1960 s and 1970 s at:.

(a) Slough

(b) Reading

(c) Swindon

(d) Bristol & extension

(e) Newport

(f) Cardiff

(g) Port Tablot & extension

(h) Plymouth

(i) Gloucester

[Also those at Old Oak Common & Brimingham Snow Haill which have subsquently closed].

The later installations at Oxfore, Westbury and and Exeter utilised these typical to implement the signalling principales of that time, although push-push button rings were adopted, as were some lineside feed arrangements to BRS-SW67.
