(a) Swing nose crossings fitted with a single BR 998 Detector Box
(b) Train Operated Points fitted with a single BR 998 Detector Box
(c) Point machines with no internal detection other than lock proving where the detection is provided by a BR 998 Detector Box
Purpose
This Special Inspection Notice details the actions necessary to ensure that certain point configurations using a single BR 998 Detector Box are identified and appropriate remedial action taken for the specified configurations.
