This applies to all P&E work sites on Network Rail's Infrastructure. The scope includes Network Rail Staff (P&E), Principal Contractors, Contractors and any sub-contractors employed by them.
Where specific legislation demands a higher standard of welfare facilities, this shall apply, i.e Asbestos, Lead.
Purpose
The purpose and intent of this document is to ensure all personnel working on P&E sites are provided with welfare facilities that are clean, comprehensively maintained and fit for purpose.
This document provides the minimum standards for provision of welfare facilities on transient and non-transient work sites while work is undertaken by or on behalf of Network Rail (P&E). This minimum standard is the interpretation of the Construction (Health, Safety & Welfare) Regulations 1996 and other applicable Heath and Safety legislation.
