Executive Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Meetings: Structure & Processes

inactive, Most Current
Organization: NR
Publication Date: 1 January 2006
Status: inactive
Page Count: 43
scope:

This document applies to prescribed regular executive SHE meetings held internally within NR, including where these are held within part of a general management team meeting and prescribed regular external SHE liaison meetings involving passenger & freight train operating companies, major contractors, British Transport Police (BTP), etc.

Note: These arrangements do not apply to the formal safety, technical and commercial acceptance processes for vehicles and products, requiring to be used on Network Rail's controlled infrastructure, which are subject to separate procedures.

Purpose

This procedure describes the executive safety meeting structure and associated key leadership processes, for the communication and discussion of safety, health and environmental (SHE) issues within Network Rail (NR). The meetings structure is designed so that all meetings are distinct and complementary, with outputs that collectively support SHE decision-making, throughout the line management chain of command. The structure is also intended to improve meeting effectiveness by concentrating on relevant key issues at each level and eliminating duplication.

This procedure is designed to support compliance with the Network Rail Railway Safety Case requirements.
