This standard is split into 4 defined sections:

• Parts 01, and Part 02

• Part 03.

• Part 04, Part 05, and Part 06.

• Part 07.

Parts 01 to 02 detail the references and processes applicable to all Maintenance Testing

Part 03 is applicable to all aspects of Maintenance Testing.

Parts 04 to 06 are applicable to reactive corrective maintenance items only.

Part 07 is applicable to pre-planned minor renewal items that are on a like for like basis only.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the mandatory procedures and tests for Maintenance Testing of signalling equipment to make sure it is tested with sufficient depth and independence to assure safe working when returned to service.

Maintenance Testing covers both reactive corrective work (e.g. the rectifying of faults and the replacement of faulty items on a like for like basis) and minor renewals (e.g. pre-planned work to renewal existing signalling equipment that are like for like).
