This specification applies to all employers and people who undertake maintenance, faulting, repair and installation of signal equipment on Network Rail controlled infrastructure. Reference should also be made to NR/SP/SIG/10160 for the requirements for IRSE licensing.

Purpose

This specification sets out the minimum requirements for the training and assessment of people who undertake signal engineering work on Network Rail controlled infrastructure. It defines processes that shall be implemented and the standards that shall be achieved to ensure that people who undertake signal engineering work are competent to perform the work.
