The specification applies to all employers and people who undertake DC Conductor Rail maintenance and/or isolation work on Network Rail controlled infrastructure. This standard covers the following types of DC Conductor Rail Systems:

• Aluminium Composite Rail
• Steel
• 4^th Rail
• 'Standard Current' System Design
• 'High Current' System Design

Purpose

This specification sets out the minimum requirements for the assessment of personnel who undertake DC Conductor Rail maintenance and/or isolation work on Network Rail controlled infrastructure. It defines processes that shall be implemented and the standards that shall be achieved to ensure that personnel who undertake DC Conductor Rail maintenance and/or isolation work are competent to perform the work.
