This Work Instruction has been produced to provide clarity when considering the removal of wheelburns or squat type defects by the application of weld repair.
With effect from the implementation date of this document, only equipment and processes identified herein may be used on Network Rail Controlled Infrastructure.
Purpose
The equipment and processes described in this Work Instruction are to be used by Network Rail and Contractor's welding staff when carrying out arc welding repairs to wheelburn and squat type defects in track.
