This document supplements the information given in NR/SP/CIV/003 Technical Approval of design, construction and maintenance of Civil Engineering infrastructure.
The scope of this Work Instruction is the use of Standard Designs and Details for renewals and Maintenance works for which the applicable Company documents are the responsibility of Network Rail's Director of Civil Engineering1.
This Work Instruction is relevant to:
• Territory Civil Engineers, Territory Structures Engineers, Territory Buildings Engineers, Territory Earthworks and Drainage Engineers, Structures Maintenance Engineers, Territory Civils Renewal Engineers
• Major Structures Engineer, Senior Tunnel Engineer, Tunnel Engineers
• Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers
• Designers and Checkers
• Contractor's Engineering Managers, Contractor's Responsible Engineers.
Purpose
The purpose of this Work Instruction is to define the Technical Approval process for adopting Standard Designs and Details to Civil Engineering works.
