Questa Norma descrive il sistema di radiodiffusione dati (RDS) applicabile a trasmissioni radio nella gamma a modulazione di frequenza VHF/FM da 87,5 a 108,0 MHz, sia mono che stereofoniche.
Le principali modifiche rispetto all'edizione precedente riguardano la revisione degli allegati D, E, N, P e Q.
La Norma in oggetto sostituisce completamente la Norma CEI EN 62106:2002-12, che rimane applicabile fino al 01-12-2012.
Questa Norma viene pubblicata dal CEI nella sola lingua inglese in quanto particolarmente mirata a settori specialistici.
