Fornisce regole per la designazione dei terminali degli oggetti all'interno di un sistema, regole previste principalmente per l'uso in area elettrotecnica o affine ma comunque applicabili in linea generale anche a tutte le aree tecniche.
La presente Norma é annullata e sostituita dalla Nuova edizione, CEI EN 61666:2011-11 (CEI 3-44), tuttavia rimane applicabile fino al 1-09-2013.
