La presente Norma si applica agli equipaggiamenti elettrici ed elettronici per macchine per cucire, unità e sistemi, destinati specificatamente all'uso professionale nell'industria.
La presente Norma riguarda equipaggiamenti o parti di essi che funzionano con tensioni nominali di alimentazione non superiori a 1000 V AC o 1500 V DC, con frequenze nominali non superiori a 200 Hz.
Essa deve essere utilizzata congiuntamente alla Norma CEI EN 60204-1:1993 (Fasc. 2119).
