La Norma , che fa parte della Pubblicazione IEC 60143, si applica ai fusibili interni previsti per isolare gli elementi capacitivi guasti, per consentire il funzionamento delle parti rimanenti di quella unità capacitiva e della batteria a cui l'unità capacitiva è collegata; questi fusibili non sono destinati a sostituire un dispositivo di manovra come un interruttore, o una protezione esterna della batteria di condensatori, o una qualsiasi parte di questa.
