Questa Norma si applica ai trasformatori, ai reattori e alle unità di alimentazione indipendenti che rientrano nella serie IEC 60989 e 61558. Essa prescrive i requisiti di compatibilità elettromagnetica per l'emissione e l'immunità nella banda di frequenza da 0 Hz a 1000 MHz; può essere utilizzata come guida alle prove separate di trasformatori, reattori e unità di alimentazione prima di incorporarli nell'apparecchio e nell'apparecchiatura
