This competence standard applies in all circumstances where any person is required to prepare, check or approve a test schedule for non-conceptual or emergency testing activities for use on Network Rail managed infrastructure.

The Test Schedule Author has overall responsibility for the planning of testing and production of the non-conceptual or emergency testing schedule in line with the requirements laid out within NR/L2/SIG/30014/G110; Signalling Non-Conceptual Works and Emergency Testing, using the approved test schedules provided in NR/L2/SIG/30014/G120 Test Schedule Template for Type.

The Test Schedule Checker requires to be independent of the Test Schedule Author and is responsible for confirming that the test schedule is fit for purpose, addressing any anomalies and gaining agreement for any recommended changes with the Test Schedule Author.

Purpose.

The purpose of this competence standard is to define the competence requirements for persons (G110 Test Schedule Authors) required to undertake the planning, preparation and production of non-conceptual or emergency testing schedules; and for persons (G110 Test Schedule Checkers) required to undertake independent checking of the non-conceptual or emergency test schedules.
