The aim of this standard is to avoid any influence detrimental to foodstuffs (§ 3 of the LMHV, German Food Hygiene Regulations) which can be caused by unsuitable or inappropriate workwear. This standard does not deal with aspects concerning the safety of workers in accordance with the EU Directives on Personal Protective Equipment, 89/656/EEC [1] and 89/686/EEC [2].
The legal provisions relating to foodstuffs and, where applicable, the sector-specific regulations on occupational health and safety (accident prevention regulations) are not affected.
