This Practice and API STD 661 describe minimum requirements for the design, materials, fabrication, inspection, and testing of air-cooled heat exchangers. This Practice describes additions, modifications, and deletions made to API STD 661. In addition, this Practice describes decisions made regarding options offered by API STD 661. This Practice supplements, but does not supersede, API STD 661 and any applicable jurisdictional requirements.

Purpose

This Practice supplements API STD 661, Sixth Edition, ISO 13706-1:2005, February 2006 - Air- Cooled Heat Exchangers for General Refinery Services. Together, this Practice and API STD 661 provide requirements for providing air-cooled heat exchangers.
