Purpose
This recommendation focuses on the architectural, functional, and security requirements that should be considered for remotely renewing the CACS within a conditional access system, which is supposed to be provided by a single vendor in cable networks. This recommendation defines three major functional requirements, which are 'Authentication and secure download of CACS, 'CAM and descrambler pairing', and 'CAM cloning-attack countermeasure', for CACS remote renewable security system.
