This method is suitable for determining whether a cosolvent used with a petroleum distillate or a blend of petroleum distillates contributes to pentachlorophenol leaching or loss from the preservative solution because of emulsion tendency or affinity for water.
This method is intended only to be used as a qualitative tool.
