scope:

This Standard establishes the common symbols for use on operator controls and other displays on tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry, and powered lawn and garden equipment (hereafter referred to as "agricultural machines") as defined in ISO 3339-0 and ISO 5395.

The symbols given apply to controls and displays common to tractors and machinery for agriculture and forestry, and powered lawn and garden equipment.

NOTE 1 The description in ISO Standard, "the symbols given apply as well as to other types of self-propelled work machines designed to operate off public roads, such as earth-moving machines, powered industrial trucks and mobile cranes" has been deleted in this Standard which is specific to symbols used for agricultural machines.

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
