This specification covers the material performance requirements for color matched, soft feel, coated silicone rubber buttons used in lower or moderate UV stability and temperature locations of the vehicle interior. These buttons are color matched, UV stable and coating may be multi-colored layers and laser etched for graphics and back-lighting. This specification excludes thermoplastic elastomer buttons and painted rigid buttons, those are covered with typical GM raw material specs for thermoplastics, paint and GMN10061 or GM2617M for part performances. Typical uses of these coated silicone rubber buttons are the Universal Home Remote system in the vehicle overhead and Key fobs.
