Application

This Guide has been developed to provide guidance and requirements for the verification of systems. A verified system provides a higher degree of certainty that the system will perform in a planned and specified fashion when in an operational, degraded or failed condition. A particular but not exclusive focus of this Guide is the "black box" verification of control systems, be they pneumatic, hydraulic, computer based, etc. An additional result of system verification may include identification of defects in the equipment under control. The requirements as specified in this Guide are additional to all other relevant requirements of ABS Rules and Guides.
