Application
All gravity tanks, excluding independent tanks of less than 5 m3 (176 ft3) in capacity, and other boundaries required to be watertight or weathertight are to be tested in accordance with this subsection and proven tight or structurally adequate as follows:
Gravity Tanks for their structural adequacy and tightness,
Watertight Boundaries Other Than Tank Boundaries for their watertightness, and
Weathertight Boundaries
for their weathertightness. For the testing of cargo containment systems of liquefied gas carriers, the requirements in 5C-8-4/10 of the Steel Vessel Rules will apply.
