This International Standard is intended to provide for the consistent use of shipboard safety and fire control plan signs, guidance on their location and size and on the use of appropriate graphical symbols and supplementary text to provide additional directional information. It does not provide design specifications for emergency lighting or electrical supply requirements. This International Standard addresses both highmounted and low-mounted signs, but does not apply to low-location lighting systems (or components of such systems) which are covered in ISO 15370.
