The goal of the proposed electronic shipment xml is to provide a standard format that would allow household goods movers and forwarders to exchange shipment related information with each other and with government authorities in language, software and hardware agnostic format ¡V XML. The structure of the proposed electronic shipment xml is governed by an XML schema document, ElectronicShipment.xsd. Some elements of the proposed xml document are governed by the existing ISO and US Customs standards. These are: - carrier codes - country codes - port codes The following elements are subject to the proposed Numeric Codification of Contents (NCC) for Electronic Inventories and Manifests of Household Goods and Personal Effects Shipments. These are: - item codes - package type codes - mode codes - location codes - exception codes - exception location codes Each xml document corresponds to one shipment carried by land, sea or air.
