This standard establishes a procedure for determining the cracking resistance of hose clamps in a test solution of sodium chloride.

Apparatus and Materials

Plastic or glass beakers of approximately 2000 ml capacity.

Hose lengths of approximately 100 mm and diameters appropriate for the clamps being tested.

Note: GM6165M or GM6196M hose is recommended. Corrosion resistant mandrels in sizes which will fit snugly inside the hoses being used.

Controlled temperature apparatus to maintain the temperature of the test containers at 36 ± 30C.
