active, Most Current
Organization: NASA
Publication Date: 22 August 2012
Status: active
Page Count: 2
scope:

Late in the Constellation Program, a trade study was performed to assess ordnance connects and closeouts in the Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at the Kennedy Space Center. This trade study discussed the need for ground system upgrades in the processing flow. One of these upgrades required establishing a monitoring capability for a Flight Termination System (FTS) Safe and Arm (S&A) device when power is removed during vehicle rollout. This operational upgrade will require process modification to ground and flight subsystems.
