Overview and Process

The LEED Green Building Rating System for Retail is a set of performance standards for certifying the design and construction of retail buildings all sizes. The intent is to promote healthful, durable, affordable, and environmentally sound practices in building (Retail for New Construction) and tenant space (Retail for Commercial Interiors) design and construction. Prerequisites and credits in the LEED Green Building Rating Systems address 7 topics:

  • Sustainable Sites (SS)
  • Water Efficiency (WE)
  • Energy and Atmosphere (EA)
  • Materials and Resources (MR)
  • Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ)
  • Innovation in Design (ID)
  • Regional Priority (RP)
