GRAPHITIZATION OF STEEL IN PETROLEUM REFINING EQUIPMENT AND THE EFFECT OF GRAPHITIZATION OF STEEL ON STRESS RUPTURE PROPERTIES

active, Most Current
Organization: WRC
Publication Date: 1 February 1957
Status: active
scope:

The following constitutes an interim report of progress on the investigations of the hot ductility of high-temperature materials and covers work completed by Mar. 15, 1956. The effect of weld thermal cycles on the elevated-temperature properties of 34 different materials has been studied and the results of these tests are discussed in this report. Eleven different heats of Type 347 stainless steels were studied, together with 23 other heats of high-temperature structural materials of 16 different alloy types.
