WRC - BULLETIN 87

CRITICAL F ACTORS IN THE INTERPRETATION OF RADIATION EFFECTS ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF STRUCTURAL METALS COMMERCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF RADIATION EFFECTS ON REACTOR PRESSURE VESSEL DESIGN, FABRICATI

active, Most Current
Organization: WRC
Publication Date: 1 April 1963
Status: active
scope:

The effects of nuclear radiation on the mechanical properties of metals are many and complex. The resulting property changes are governed by a number of factors, some of which have not been adequately studied. Such factors include total fast neutron exposure, neutron energy spectrum, instantaneous neutron flux, slow neutron exposure, temperature during and after irradiation, stress, environment, lattice type, alloying elements, metallurgical structure and test parameters.
