WRC - BULLETIN 336

INTERPRETIVE REPORT ON DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF PRESSURE COMPONENTS

active, Most Current
Organization: WRC
Publication Date: 1 September 1988
Status: active
scope:

The Interpretive Report on Dynamic Analysis of Pressure Components was first listed as WRC Bulletin 246 in February 1979. That report was updated as WRC Bulletin 269 in 1981; more recently, the third edition was issued as WRC Bulletin 303 in 1985. The third edition of the report presented an evaluation of five areas of technical importance to the Pressure Vessel Industry. They were dynamic modeling, pressure systems rupture and protection, pressure transients, seismic analysis and fluid-structure interaction. This fourth edition represents a major revision of WRC Bulletin 303 issued in 1985. It retains the three sections on pressure transients, fluid structure interaction and seismic analysis. However, significant revisions were made to make them current. A new section has been included on Dynamic Stress Criteria to emphasize the importance of this technology. A new section has also been included on Dynamic Restraints that primarily addresses snubbers, but also discusses alternatives to snubbers such as limit stop devices and flexible steel plate energy absorbers.
