The licensing requirement applies to all staff involved with any existing or future LU assets described in Attachment 1 - Sub-Systems Affected, within the job titles/functions listed in Attachment 2 - Licence Categories.

Licences issued under this standard apply to fire engineering assets, which comprise the sub-systems listed in Attachment 1 - Sub-Systems Affected.

To achieve this, the Fire Asset Engineer will operate this Licensing System.

The licensing of contractors' fire systems engineers is covered by P1401, Licensing of Fire Systems Engineers.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to describe the licensing system to be used by the Fire Asset Engineer.

The purpose of the licensing system is to specify the minimum skill requirements necessary for the correct and safe performance of work, and the activities necessary for confidence to be maintained.
