General
For operational reasons traction current will remain switched on throughout the Christmas period from the close of traffic on 24 December (the night leading into 25 December) until the start of traffic on 26 December.
Exceptions to the areas of operation of these special procedures are as follows:
• Network Rail asset areas
− Turnham Green boundary to Richmond
− Queen's Park boundary to Harrow & Wealdstone
• Where LU assets are supplied by Network Rail's power system
• Where Controllers are on duty and do not hand over control
• Where published arrangements exist for possessions or other access arrangements.
This notice forms part of the Operational Overview for Christmas Day.
The Network Operations Centre (NOC), Force Control Room London (FCR(L)) and Power Control Room (PCR) will work together with the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and British Transport Police (BTP) officers on site as necessary.
In the event of:
• an earth fault, or
• a tunnel telephone (TT) operation
• third party activity necessitating BTP entry onto any part of the track on LU infrastructure
• any incident which requires the attendance of the emergency services,
The ERU will be asked to attend the incident by the NOC, following a request from either the FCR(L) or the PCR.
It is recognised that, during this period, some service control rooms will at times be staffed by personnel not qualified to perform normal service control duties. In these circumstances, these personnel must not become involved in incidents as detailed within this OSN.
