This Standard specifies the solid rods (hereafter referred to as "rods") and solid wires (hereafter referred to as "wires") used for TIG welding, MIG welding, plasma welding, electron beam welding and laser welding of titanium and titanium alloys.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows:

ISO 24034: 2005 Welding consumables-Solid wires and rods for fusion welding of titanium and titanium alloys-Classification and Amendment 1: 2008 (MOD)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/ lEC Guide 21-1.
