Titanium Alloy Bars, Forgings, and Rings 6.0Al - 4.0V Solution and Precipitation Heat Treated
|Publication Date:||1 April 1985|
Form: This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of heat treated bars, wire, forgings, and flash welded rings 4.000 in. (100.00 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and of stock for forging and flash welded rings.
Application: Primarily for parts which are machined after solution and precipitation heat treatment. Suitable for parts, such as pressure vessels and other structures, requiring high strength-to-weight ratios at, or near, room temperature. Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP 982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
