The standard specifies the test methods to be used for testi ng polymeric insulating and sheathing materials of electric cables for power distribution and telecommunications includi ng cables used on ships. This section two of part 1 gives th e thermal ageing methods which apply to the most common type s of insulating and sheathing compounds (elastomeric, PVC, P E, PP etc.).
