Purpose. The purpose of this test is to verify adhesively or mechanically attached exterior emblems/nameplates will remain attached to the body and not slide down the surface.
The cleavage peel or pull force will measure the maximum force to break free.
The dynamic shear force will be applied parallel to the mounting surface with the intent of measuring movement of the badge.
Foreword. Not applicable.
Applicability. This standard applies to all mechanically or adhesively attached rigid badging including inserts. It does not apply to poured urethane, flexible emblems.
