This Recommendation describes the specifications for a hybrid cable set-top box (STB) to be used in cable TV networks. The hybrid cable set-top box, called the hybrid STB in the cable television network environment, is a key device for the reception of broadcast services and Internet Protocol (IP) based services. By combining a cable platform and a home network, the STB can offer new interactive services to cable customers and cable operators.
