Dieser Teil von ISO 11357 legt Verfahren für die Bestimmung der Oxidations-Induktionszeit (isothermische OIT) und Oxidations-Induktionstemperatur (dynamische OIT) von polymeren Werkstoffen mittels Dynamischer Differenz-Thermoanalyse (DSC) (Dynamischer Differenzkalorimetrie) fest. Er ist anwendbar auf Polyolefinharze, die in einer vollständig stabilisierten oder compoundierten Form entweder als Rohmaterialien oder als Fertigerzeugnisse vorliegen. Er darf auf andere Kunststoffe angewendet werden.
