This standard applies to opposite-sided sash fume cupboards that are equipped with two sashes opposing each other. Opposite-sided sash fume cupboards are mainly used in scientific classrooms and are usually installed between the classroom and the preparation room.
It specifies the particular requirements resulting from the design with two sashes. For general requirements DIN EN 14175-2 applies and, if need be, DIN EN 14175-6 for opposite-sided sash fume cupboards with variable air volume.
