scope:

This standard covers the paving of roads of any type, of open spaces, courtyards, railway platforms and track systems, with setts or slabs. It also applies to surrounds, drainage channels and gutters made with setts or slabs.

This standard does not apply to sett and slab pavements that are laid on buildings and do not have a base and drainage layer.

Clauses 1 to 5 of DIN 18299 shall also apply. In cases where the specifications of DIN 18299 contradict the present standard, the latter shall take precedence.
