Standard Test Method for FLAMMABILITY OF CLOTHING TEXTILES

This method covers the evaluation of the flammability of clothing textiles. It is applicable of textile clothing and textile intended to be used in clothing. The term "raised fiber surface" in the method means a napped, pile, tufted, flocked, or similar surface.
This standard should be used to measure and describe the properties of materials. Products or assemblies in response to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions and should not be used to describe or appraise the fire hazard of materials. Products or assemblies under test may be used as elements of a fire risk easement which takes into account all of the factors which are pertinent of an assessment of the fire hazard of a particular end use.
